Avoiding the scams
Do you really know what you are getting from your rakeback affiliate?
By now you probably know that people can get commission when referring new players to different poker rooms on the Internet. And as always, when money is involved, people are often getting a little bit too excited about the opportunities and therefore offer "fake" rakeback deals just to get sign-ups more easily.
I meet a friend last week who was really happy about his 27% rakeback deal* he had signed up for. The problem is that he later told me that it was 27% from the 50% the affiliate gets for having him playing. THAT IS NOT 27% in rakeback, it is 13,5% and it is also a real crappy deal! Rakeback should ALWAYS be calculated from 100% gross revenue not anything below that!
I just felt I had to write an article about this, to clear things up.
* Do I have to mention that we offer 40% rakeback at the same network...?
An example of a fake rakeback deal
In this example the player is offered "30% rakeback" when signing up.

Pot $60 |
Pot is raked 5%, capped at $3 |

The affiliate gets 20% of the amount the referred player contributed to the pot. Let's say the player contributed with $1. Then the affiliate gets 0.20c for that raked hand. |
The player gets "30% rakeback". Too bad, this amount is taken from the percentage the affiliate is paid. From that tiny 20%... This is only 6c from a pot where the rake is capped and the real rakeback is only 6%. It suxx! |
Below is REAL rakeback which you will recieve when signing up through us

The rakeback is immediately calculated on the generated rake, i.e the poker room's gross revenue. For using the same example above this means 30c instead of the 6c you will get in a fake rakeback deal. (30% of $1 contribution is 30c.) This is real rakeback! |
Conclusion: |
And don't forget that our deals are even better than in the examples above...!
