PROP INTERVIEW #1
First out in our series of prop interviews is Robert, a 39 year old truck driver from Sweden. A job he got with help of another prop after being unemployed for 8 months as a result of an injury as a carpenter.
Robert, I would guess you are older then the average online poker player, is this something you notice when playing?
I am young in my heart, but not in the my brain ;) I notice sometimes that it is a low limit on expressions and maturity among the players but I do not feel old on the tables.
How often do you play poker and why?
I think I play everyday because it is a fun and stimulating game. And there is a chance that you might earn some few coins sometimes too. I have played for 11 months.
What forms of poker do you like most?
I have to say Texas Holdem. Omaha H/L is fun too. I have just started to learn that game and it demand more of you as a poker player.
What is your best poker memory?
It have to be when I had played at prop site 1 for 1.5 months and got a good advice from someone called “Illvillja” ;) . He told me to play more aggressive and to call down more then I did. I followed his advice and I have never deposit money since that, it was a huge change for my gameplay. I changed a massive loss to a slight winning. THANK YOU!
I have to admit I am very proud of this answer. We spend a lot of time managing our players and of course we notice how they play and if they like and if we have the time for it we take the time to discuss their game. For me I am glad that we have at least helped one player to get better and I was seriously real proud to hear this. We went on with the interview to see what other impact we had on this guy…
What have the prop deals meant to you as a poker player? How was your results before you started propping?
Is this answer going public? Then I was a HUGE winner… No Seriously, I guess I was this BIG FISH that everyone loved to have at their table. I guess I am still losing some, but the rakeback keeps me on track and I have been winning since I started propping.
What is the best by being a prop?
It is all the good advices you can give and take from the forum and the shiftmanagers that you can use both in poker and the real life. And of course, even if you have a bad day the prop pay helps you stay at least even.
What is the worst?
After thinking a pretty long time the answer comes.
I guess it is not having a bank roll and time to play at all prop sites at the same time.
Is it hard to play by the rules?
Maybe you should answer it for me? I do not think it is hard, and so far I have not got any warnings. And if I can follow the rules, anyone can.
Do the rules impact negatively on your poker play?
No, the opposite. It makes you concentrate more and stay focused. And it is a lot better atmosphere on tables with a few props, less whine and things like that. The only prop I have seen that can lose his temper is “Illvillja”.
Bah, when you hold the keyboard I guess I could have censored that part, but it is true, there are times you really have to force yourself to write “nh” instead of screaming out loud. I guess my dear props have noticed this when CAPS LOCK is instantly pressed down and I am almost yelling at them on Yahoo ;) Since I took a break from poker I think I have been a lot better though…
What prop site do you like most?
All sites have their advantage. I love the graphics on Prop Site 1, especially now when I got a new computer. If you see to the game, I think Prop Site 3 is the best of those I have tried. I really do not like Prop Site 2, I cannot understand the game there. My answer is Prop Site 3 overall.
So at last, everyone that has ever tried poker have tones of bad beat stories. To thank you for your participation I give you the opportunity to share your worst bad beat story with the world…
Yes, there are tones of them. This particular one is at Prop Site 1, I had KK at the hole and went all-in and got called by 2 players. One had QQ and one AK. Flop AKQ. I cheered and was on my way over the table to rake in the hand. Turn A and river A. Good night and bye bye $75! But as I said earlier, poker is a stimulating game…
