Rakerebate, rakeback, rakeshare...?

What is the difference?

Rake

Most of you probably know what this is because you are here, but let's take it in short anyway. The rake is the amount that is taken from each played pot and which goes to the poker room. Usually around 5% of each pot. It is the rake that gives the poker rooms their income and make them earn huge amounts of money. Don't you think it would be nice to get this amount yourself? It is possible if you sign up for a rakeback/rakerebate deal or a rakeshare deal through us.

Rakeshare

Rakeshare is a rakeback system which splits the rake between all players and where you will get a share of the rake even if you fold preflop. Let us say that you play on a 5 handed table, and that the rake for one specific hand is $1, then you will with 100% rakeshare get $0.20 even if you play it all the way to the river or if you fold preflop.

Another rakeshare example: Let us say that you during one hour of 5 handed play get 100 raked hands and the average rake on every hand is $1, then you get $20 during that hour. This even if you have seen the flop only 25 of those hands.

Rakeback & rakerebate

The contrary is rakeback, also known as rakerebate which is the same thing. When you play with rakeback/rakerebate the amount you will get depends on how much you have contributed to the pot. Say that you are playing in the same 5 handed game as earlier and plays in the pot with $1 in rake against a single opponent (all other folded preflop). This time you get 100% of the rake you have put in ($0.50 in this exemple). If you play 100 raked hands during an hour and you actively play in 25 of them, it now depends on how large the rake is in every single hand to calculate your profit. If the average pot in your hands is $2 you might rake $20 this hour, you can have a good run or play very aggresive and rake a lot more, or you can play less hands and rake less.

Which deal is good for which occasion?

  • Rakerebate/rakeback is more profitable when playing real shorthanded games as you often play more pots and tend to play those aggresively. This systes is used at Prop site 1.
  • Rakeshare is more profitable when playing longhanded games, as you often play less hands / hour there. This system is used at Prop site 2.
